What is FX?
"FX" is the collective name for the different treatments using the UltraPulse FX laser from Lumenis. The UltraPulse FX is utilized for a variety of treatments. They are classified using names that really are just an indicator of the settings used to achieve the desired results.
The fractional procedures performed using the UltraPulse FX ablate discrete columns of tissue, deposit heat and promote regeneration throughout the underlying layers of the skin. The ActiveFX, DeepFX, and TotalFX fractional laser treatments are single-pass procedures that ensure even coverage and eliminate the possibility of overlap. The Max FX is otherwise known as complete laser skin resurfacing and requires the procedure performed under anesthesia and with the doctor administering the treatment. The treatment is a complete resurfacing of the skin.
ActiveFX Treats: Treat fine lines, texture and dyschromia
ActiveFX is a fractional laser treatment for pigmentation and fine lines that yields remarkable results with minimal downtime. ActiveFX uses a larger beam to treat the upper layer of skin to remove unwanted pigmentation, promote new skin regeneration, and improve fine lines and texture.
DeepFX Treats: Treat deep wrinkles and scars
DeepFX utilizes a very narrow laser microbeam to remove columns of tissue deep into the layers of the skin. The body then heals the channel which stimulates immediate new collagen growth to improve the appearance of wrinkles, scars and fine lines.
TotalFX Combines ActiveFX and DeepFX for "total" outcomes
TotalFX combines DeepFX and ActiveFX procedures for total solutions in one treatment with minimal downtime. Fractional treatments treat only a fraction of the skin, leaving bridges of untouched skin that aid in the healing process and reduce healing times enabling you to return to normal activities quicker. In one treatment, TotalFX stimulates collagen growth for up to six months that can improve the appearance of: scars, wrinkles, fine lines, tone, texture and pigmentation.
The TotalFX procedure begins with the DeepFX treatment, and then followed by the ActiveFX.
