Founded in 1992, Humanitarian Aid Relief Team (HART) is a Utah based nonprofit organization that collaborates with indigenous leaders and other NGOs around the world to provide healthcare services to communities in developing countries.

Dr. Crofts in Africa with HART

Dr. Kimball M. Crofts joined HART in 1997 and currently serves as President of the board. Although HART doesn’t have any paid staff members, its dedicated board and volunteers organize annual medical missions to communities in need of medical services around the world. The 2016 mission will be a multispecialty Medical Mission to Ghana! The team will provide services in Orthopedic Surgery provided by Dr. Kelly Jensen, Obstetrical Gynecologic Care by Dr. Donna Bennett, General Surgery by Dr. Jon Pressett, Plastic Surgery by Dr. Kimball Crofts, as well as medical outreach services.

This year, the medical team will travel to Asunafo South & North in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. The mission will run from August 26 to September 7th. The mission also includes the construction of a medical clinic and an orphanage.

As a fundraiser for this year’s mission, HART is organizing a 5k Barefoot Run For Africa. This 5k will be held at 9am at the Cascade Golf Course on 1323 East 850 N St. in Orem. 100% of the funds collected will go towards the 2016 Medical Mission to Ghana.
