About Wrinkles | Wrinkle Treatments Utah
One fear that most women have as they age is getting wrinkles. Many things cause wrinkles; some are natural causes, but some can be controlled. Some causes can be habitual facial expressions, aging, the sun, hydration, and many other simple causes.
The skin has three layers: the epidermis, the dermis, and the subcutaneous. The epidermis is the outer layer that protects the body tissues from the effects of the environment. The second layer is the dermis that has connective tissue that enables elasticity of the skin.
There is connective tissue that enables elasticity of the skin called the dermal-epidermal. It contains connective tissues called rete ridges, which receive their nutrients from blood vessels in the dermis. The subcutaneous level is the lowest level that contains fat cells that provide insulation and make the skin look full.
As you age, the epidermal cells become thinner and lose elasticity, making the skin appear thinner. There is also a lower effectiveness of the barriers that allow moisture to be released instead of being kept intact by the skin. This will cause skin dryness.
The number of epidermal cells will continue to reduce as you age and the skin is not able to replace them as fast as they are wearing out. This causes reduction of collagen and elastin production.
Small changes in the skin add up over time and end up in wrinkles, dryness, and aging of the skin. This is why cosmetic companies make millions of dollars off of everyone being concerned with the way they look.
There are various types of wrinkle treatments that are applied to the skin or injected into the body. Some are used for a short period, while others are used for a lifetime.
Simply put a wrinkle is a crease or ridge in the skin. There are many reasons that they occur, but there are also many wrinkle treatments on the market.
