What is cellulite and what causes it?
Cellulite is found typically on the thighs or buttocks, caused by fibrous bands, called septa, that tether to your skin to the structures below and cause a depression, or dimples with defined edges that are seen on the surface of the skin. Cellulite can be of any shape or size and can sometimes be seen under tight clothing, like leggings.
Septa are the major underlying cause of cellulite. These fibrous bands tether your skin to structures below. There are good septa bands that you need as connective tethers, but there are also bad ones. The bad septa bands stiffen or shrink over time and lead to the dimpling you see on the surface of the skin, otherwise known as cellulite. With Avéli, your Aesthetica provider can find the bad septa with precision to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Other causes of cellulite include genetics and hormones.

How many Avéli sessions will I need?
Avéli patients only require a single cellulite treatment to enjoy cellulite-free buttocks and thighs!
How long is downtime after Avéli cellulite treatment?
Most patients can return to normal activities within 24-48 hours. However, we recommend our patients to avoid exercising and strenuous activities for the first week after their cellulite treatment to allow the treatment area to heal. Your Aesthetica Nurse Practitioner will provide you with complete post-procedure instructions.
How long does an Avéli procedure take?
The exact timing of an Avéli procedure will depend on your personalized treatment plan from your Aesthetica provider. Avéli procedures can take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, including local anesthesia and the procedure itself.
How quickly will I see my Avéli cellulite treatment results?
Avéli results will be visible one month post procedure when swelling and bruising subsides.
