Frequently Asked Questions

How does IPL FotoFacial work?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-laser therapy that involves shining highly-concentrated, intense beams of light intermittently on the surface of the skin. The pulses of light target pigment and vascular irregularities, smoothing out the skin’s tone and texture.

IPL therapy helps to reduce the effects of aging, leaving clients with younger, clearer, and healthier-looking skin. Whereas laser therapy uses one particular wavelength of light, IPL therapy produces a spectrum of light

How much is an IPL FotoFacial treatment?

An IPL treatment is $300 per session at regular price and $180 with an Aesthetica Loyalty Membership. Learn more about Aesthetica Loyalty Memberships here.

What are the possible side effects?

IPL therapy involves short, intense pulses of light being delivered to the skin. As a result, you may experience small raised bumps and redness in the treatment area shortly after your treatment. These bumps should vanish within a few days. Common side effects are redness and mild swelling, but most people can return to normal activities directly after the treatment.

How long is a typical treatment?

A typical treatment can last anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. Because there is little or no downtime, you can have an IPL treatment during your lunch break.

How many treatments will I need?

The ideal number of treatments depends on your skin and individual concerns. Most patients see results after one treatment. However, we may recommend a series of 3-5 treatments for you to achieve optimal results.
