What can I expect after my Vbeam treatment?
Following your Vbeam treatment, patients may experience redness, swelling, and bruising which can possibly last up to 2 weeks.
How many treatments will I need to see results?
Some patients see results immediately after their first treatment, but that’s not the case for everyone. For most patients, we recommend 2-6 treatments spaced every 4-6 weeks. For patients with more severe and stubborn skin conditions, more treatments will be needed. Is the Vbeam laser treatment painful?
Patients often report a warming or tingling sensation during the treatment without the use of anesthetics. We recommend patients to avoid topical anesthetics as they can constrict blood vessels, making the treatment less effective. However, in rare cases where patients can’t tolerate the pain, we recommend them taking Tylenol prior to their appointment.
After treatment, patients experience a sensation similar to a mild sunburn. During the treatment, skin may receive additional protection through the Dynamic Cooling Device cooling system (DCD), which delivers a cooling burst of cryogen before the laser pulse is delivered. The DCD cooling increases comfort during treatment and minimizes side effects such as redness.
How long does a Vbeam treatment take?
Like many other laser treatments, the treatment time depends on the area, skin condition, and the size. Treatments can take anywhere from 15-45 minutes.
