Kybella (deoxycholic acid) is typically a 15 to 20 minute in-office treatment session. After performing an assessment and discussing a treatment plan with you, an Aesthetica Nurse Injector will give you a series of injections under the chin.
The number of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. Many patients treated with Kybella (deoxycholic acid) experience visible contouring of their chin profile in 2 to 4 treatments.* However, some people require up to 6 treatments in order to achieve results.
*Results vary from person to person
For most patients, downtime is minimal and included swelling of and redness in the treatment area.
As with other injectable treatments, you may experience side effects with Kybella (deoxycholic acid) in Utah. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and formation of small areas of firmness around the treatment area.
In clinical trials, the side effects that people experienced with Kybella (deoxycholic acid) became less bothersome with subsequent treatments.
Apply ice or a cold pack to the treatment area for 10 to 15 minutes if any side effects bother you.
Prior to administering Kybella (deoxycholic acid), your provider may apply ice/cold packs or topical and/or injectable local anesthesia to the treatment area to make you more comfortable. They may also suggest you take an over-the-counter pain reliever before your appointment.

Our Nurse Injectors are fully licensed in the State of Utah and highly trained by the companies that manufacture injectables, as well as independent trainers. Unlike other providers, Nurse Practitioners are uniquely qualified to assess, prescribe (since all neurotoxins and dermal fillers are prescriptions) and administer these products since they are licensed to do so under Utah State law.
Here at Aesthetica we offer the best of the best. We carry the most prestigious neurotoxins in the industry like Botox and Dysport. We also offer injectable fillers like the Juvederm Collection of Fillers, Restylane, Radiesse, and Voluma all to satisfy your most unique needs. Finally, to provide that additional edge we also offer Kybella (deoxycholic acid), a fat destroyer injectable to help you ditch the double chin!
