As with other injectable treatments, you may experience side effects with Kybella in Utah. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and formation of small areas of firmness around the treatment area.
In clinical trials, the side effects that people experienced with Kybella became less bothersome with subsequent treatments.
Apply ice or a cold pack to the treatment area for 10 to 15 minutes if any side effects bother you.
Prior to administering Kybella, your provider may apply ice/cold packs or topical and/or injectable local anesthesia to the treatment area to make you more comfortable. They may also suggest you take an over-the-counter pain reliever before your appointment.
