Nordlys fractional treatment is used to resurface and rejuvenate the skin. This non-ablative treatment uses fractionated, or tiny fractions, of powerful laser beams to stimulate collagen production while also promoting rapid healing. Increased collagen production improves the appearance of scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and overall skin texture.

The 1550 laser is part of the Nordlys system- a foundational platform for an array of light-based treatments including the Nordlys IPL. This is where the name comes from. The 1550 part of the name comes from the wavelength used to perform the procedure.

What is recovery like for the Fractional Laser treatment?
Patients may return to regular activities immediately after treatment. The treated areas may look slightly pink for a day or two following treatment. In some cases, the skin may also feel a bit warm or dry. The Aesthetica Master Esthetician will recommend medical grade skincare products to aid you with your recovery at home to help enhance the results of your treatment. It is important to wear sunscreen after your treatment and to avoid sun exposure. If you're sensitive to pain, ask your Aesthetica provider about getting you a prescription for topical numbing to apply prior to your treatment.
When will I see my Nordly's Fractional Laser results?
Some patients report noticing results after 1 treatment. However, a series of 3-4 treatments may be recommended. Here at Aesthetica, we customize your treatment plan to help you achieve optimal results.

Is the fractionated laser treatment painful?
Most patients report feeling a tingling sensation and some heat in the skin during treatment. The fractional laser is built with a SoftCool air cooling system, which makes the treatment more comfortable for patients. We recommend using a topical numbing cream prior to treatment.
How does Nordly's Fractional Laser work?
The infrared laser energy emitted by the fractional laser targets the water in skin cells and vaporizes them.
